Background

Chally initially developed its Assessment system using funding from a grant from the U.S. Justice Department in 1973. The grant's purpose was to find a more accurate way to select qualified candidates for law enforcement. Our research found there were no instruments accurate enough to meet the need, so we built our own. The resulting Chally Assessment uses actuarial assessment techniques and a validation technology that accurately predicts on-the-job effectiveness. The technology was subsequently expanded to cover all business arenas, including management, sales, technical, leadership, and professional skill positions.

Besides being actuarially based, the Chally Assessment is unique in that it has remained stable for over 33 years, being constantly refined by ever-accumulating data and usage. In fact, independent academic research has shown that no other tool is as predictive, objective, non discriminatory, or as practical to use as the Chally Assessment.
